Hi Melissa,
This subject should have been covered in your training.
According to those more knowledgeable than myself, the ideal number of participants at one table is 4.
A competent facilitator should be able to handle around 15 participants (so that makes 4 tables). Beyond 15 participants, you will be sacrificing quality for the sake of saving…[Read more] -

Hi Ariane, the answer is yes.
Joyce and I tend to use a rule of thumb of approx. 15 participants / facilitator. Best practice is closer to 8 / facilitator, but most clients are reluctant to spend that much money on the facilitation and the coordination of all of the co-facilitators would almost require a full time person doing just that.
With…[Read more]

Dear Joanna,
The way I have understood your question is that you as a facilitator of LSP activities are being asked by a client to use LSP to support an interview process. I think it would be helpful to be careful with your terminology.
A facilitator-led interactive process in which one participant builds metaphorical models with LEGO pieces and…[Read more] -

Arjan: I’ve tried this a few times, but the range of solutions does not include one that truly engages all participants, and often feels forced. I typically lead a more conventional de-brief about common threads and themes that emerge during the stories; comparing individual models of “how we are today” to group models of “us at our best” reveals…[Read more]

Hi Sabin,
Thanks for your response. I can definitely see how such a tool would be useful for virtual teams collaborating on the same project. Perhaps the Slack Channel could be used for anyone wanting to develop the seriousplaypro web site and as you say newly trained facilitators who want to keep the buzz going or ask their trainer for…[Read more] -

Hi Guys,
I had never heard of slack channel until today, so I looked it up in Wikipedia. After browsing through the features and other aspects, I have to ask how such a communications medium can be of more value than the WordPress CMS system that we already have.Just curious,
Eli
P.S. Marko, this is not a request for me to be included in the…[Read more] -

Dear Belen,
Thanks for your interest in LSP. If you really have no other option than to read a book, I would suggest that you start with “Building a Better Business Using the Lego Serious Play Method” by Per Kristiansen and Robert Rasmussen. However, I personally don’t think that two-dimensional text can do justice to an interactive…[Read more]

hey Luca: it’s true – that specific line does not appear in The Republic, or in any of Plato’s other writings. Despite that, I have continued to use it in my workshop introductions, with the modifier of ”
attributed to Plato.”
A Google search reveals thousands of mis-attributions, including from prestigious academic journals.
That does not make…[Read more] -

I have applied in a couple strategy workshops BMI’s Business Model Pattern Cards, based on Gassmann’s, Frankenberger’s and Csik’s Business Model Navigation theory create a useful combination for informed strategy discussions. Works well when people want to brainstorm about their business model configurations. More straightforward than BMC.
