You might use some principles of appreciative inquiry (discover & dream phase), related to Per’s suggestion. Instead of a taboo or a myth, you could focus on the positive side: what makes the new situation tick?

Dear Alan – the experience that Eli conveyed was a workshop where I was the LSP facilitator. At the time, his boss had given me a remit to “sell” the change process to his senior management team, using an

Hi Alan, I agree with Eli that your gut feeling is the right choice… I always try to work with a clear question that has various answers, depending on whom you ask. With this diversity of possible answers LSP

hi Alan
A quick note to follow up on some of the great input from Eli, Peter and Marko. Indeed time seems to be an issue, as well as the fact that the new system is not perfect. If you decide to go for LSP, I -

Your gut feeling is no doubt the right one in this case.

Many thanks to you all …. I think the fact that I put this out there is for all the reasons you have mentioned and I knew I was being asked to do a difficult job – sell change! It is an NGO where the democratic

Hi Alan
Eli’s concern regarding your only having 3 hours is a HUGE concern, and even more so if you start with a skills exercise to get them going. Surely sincere commitment is worth whatever time it takes? I’d -

Hi Alan,
I completely agree with Marko’s comments. I often tell the story of how I became so impressed with LSP. Our boss was exactly like your client: he wanted to make some changes and he thought he could use -

Alan,
Sounds very interesting. This might turn out well, but I would be slightly concerned about your brief (“new system is far from perfect”). Hence – it might depend on the internal dynamics of the team –

Hi All,
I have to do a 3 hour session with a group of 12 people on Change Management and the brief is to make them understand that the new system (albeit imperfect) is here to stay and that accepting the change

Dear all,
We plan to conduct a Lego Serious Play workshop in September here in Switzerland. Since we have more participants than anticipated – and since LEGO currently seems to be unable to deliver new kits –

Hi Andreas, We do have quite a lot of inventory, which we tend to reuse, because most of our work is currently in the public/academic/non-profit sector. We have enough material for around 100 participants, but we don’t have 4 brand new boxes. Depending on the nature of your workshope and client, it may or may not be viable to rent the material…[Read more]

We already did engage an external facilitator to conduct this first 1-day workshop, but he currently does not possess enough material for 20 participants,…[Read more]
