Dear Francesca, we are running a similar service in The Netherlands, where kids with a challenge (usually something alike autism) sort and deliver kits. We could deliver in Germany, but also at the location in The Netherlands. Anything you like. Just like Christoph we lease out anything (starter / L&I / connections / baseplates) and we sell…[Read more]

My dearest fellow LEGO Serious Play facilitators: I need your help! Together with Edwin de Vos and Peter Westenberg we have the intention to launch a social sort and lease service for LSP kits. To fit that service to the needs of our potential customers (you!) we made this small questionnaire. Will you please leave a response, so we can design our…[Read more]

Or otherwise: show a large timer, appoint a time keeper, or use a 1, 2 or 3 minute hourglass – that runs while someone is explaining his/her model.

Hi Manon,
a few suggestions:
– work in really small groups, so you can move on – instead of waiting for several tables to finish their discussions
– do not just set up a timeline, but use a visible timer as well – so people know when they should finish and you don’t have to scream to silence them
– make the challenges really comprehensive and…[Read more]

My 2 cents, depending on excercise, mood and group:
Earned it – The Weeknd
Take it back – Ed Sheeran
Still young – The Cat Empire
Brighter than gold – The Cat Empire
Happiness – Jonathan Jeremiah
Street spirit – Radiohead
Try and make sense – MOAT
The Walker – Fitz and the Tantrums
Can’t hold us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Move on up – Curtis…[Read more] -

Besides your own solutions I sometimes work together with a visual facilitator who makes visual notes based on people’s stories and the things they tell in between the lines. We print those notes and sketches right at the end of the session, so everybody can bring them back to their workingplaces. Usually it’s a nice reminder – that covers the…[Read more]

Thanks, Stan and Eli for sharing those cases. I’ll dive into it to see if something like you did might help my potential customer. I’ll keep you posted on their wishes, if you like.
Cheers, Wiro

Hi all,
I recall there are several examples of cases where LSP was used for research and/or education purposes. I got a question from someone in higher education, which I have to answer tomorrow. Can someone here please refresh my mind by mentioning (or pointing me to) those cases?
Thanks in advance, and regards, Wiro

When you just use the Value Proposition Canvas and make people build WHAT they solve (or what needs they fulfill) for WHO, then you have plenty time.

Cool addition Sebastian. I could even imagine people to continue building on a model someone else started, or improving and extending a shared model the people on the table built at first instance.

Just to go short: you could work in two to four smaller groups and try to focus on your role as a facilitator solely. That would mean you won’t be able to listen to every story being told, nor that you can intervene immediately. If that’s not what you want: arrange an extra facilitator. I wouldn’t try to put 19 people together on one table, if I…[Read more]

Until now I’ve always been surprised by the metaphors people come up with while using DUPLO. Therefor I sometimes extent the kit I use with a LEGO Education set of DUPLO ‘Community People’: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Education-Community-People-4591516/dp/B0085Y3K6Y

Make them build individual models on who they are, what’s their excellence, biggest challenge, key-learning point or purpose for joining this program. Or all of it. Afterwards you can let them make connections –

I usually let people make a video movie with one person explaining the shared model, but this looks quite cool as well.

With this size of a group and this amount of time I would give a short introduction and make every person play with the contents of a window exploration bag. You can choose to put people in groups of 4/5 and make them do some small excercises like building a tower to experience ownership, building small metaphors using a same starting point and do…[Read more]
