I just completed my Certificate in Facilitating and Designing Workshops with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Method, instructed by Robert Rasmussen. What a wonderful experience!! I am so excited to be a part of the LSP community and I can’t wait to integrate the LSP method into all of my work. Playing with purpose is my mantra!!

Serious Play Forum 11 years, 7 months agoWishing you all a very productive couple of days in Billund. Sorry that Joyce and I couldn’t make it this time round – just a bit too busy on a variety of different professional and personal projects for once.
I just read a reply by Leif Kjaer Karlsen to my comment about protecting the core values, principles, etc. of LSP. What he says is very…[Read more]

Serious Play Forum 11 years, 8 months agoA Potential Breach in LSP Core Values???
As a follow-on from the conversation with Gabriel, I thought I’d trawl the net for any reference to Swisscom and LSP. Apart from our own CAPRESE web site, and the Xing profile of our main client representative, I also saw a link to a page in German:…[Read more]

According to my information from a former colleague, now employed at DSG Berlin, JK (during a WS Sept. 7th.) by using the LSP concept name represented a directly contradiction of all the LSP values, principles and etiquette. Including that the core steps of LSP were not followed and after woods by various participants named as a complete disaster.…[Read more]

Serious Play Forum 11 years, 8 months agoHello all, I am working my way to secure a large Telecom service provider. I saw in various presentations that Swisscom actually used LSP. Can anyone tell me for what application exactly and if at all possible which division of Swisscom?
Thank you-
Hi Gabriel,
Swisscom used LSP in a strategic programme to move from technology driven product development to human centric customer experience design.
Orange Communications used LSP for strategy and branding in the very early days of research through The Imagination Lab.
I also believe that some work was done with British Telecom around 2009,…[Read more]

Eli,
thank you very much, this is very helpful. It turns out that the Canadian company I am referring to will be speaking to Swisscom on another matter and just might bring up the topic of LSP.
Thx again
Gabriel-
The department in question is Swisscom Residential Brand Experience. However, I believe the leadership team from that time has now moved on.

Great, thx Eli

BTW where did you see a presentation about Swisscom and LSP? I’m not aware of anything on seriousplaypro
-
A presentation on LSP had a slide with a list of companies that used the method… Swisscom figured as one of them.
-
But you don’t remember where you saw this presentation? I’m just curious. Obviously, if it was the CAPRESE web site, that would make sense – I’m more interested if other people / organisations refer to it. It enhances one’s credibility if third parties reference one’s work.
-
Eli, the presentation is in the knowledge base that we have access to, and it’s entitled LSP_Case_Example.pdf
-
I’m curious. Where do you access this knowledge base? I’m supposed to be a moderator of this site and I wasn’t aware that there was a knowledge base of PDFs
-
I suppose that this is one of the presentations prepared by Robert some years ago. Available e.g. here: http://www.flandersinshape.be/frontend/files/userfiles/files/LSP_Case_Example.pdf

yes it is… that’s the one!

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 8 months agoHi,
I am doing a workshop for 80 people next week. They would like to do use LSP as a closer for an international conference as a fun but still productive activity.
I have previously done large workshops upto 200 people but the LSP part tends to be as an activity that is added to further explore or amplify a topic already under discussion.

Martin van Dijken replied to the topic VAT? in the forum
Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 9 months agoI’m not 100% certain it’s resolved, but I simply put this receipt into my tax deduction forms and tried it. I’ll know in a year from now whether it was accepted ;-)
I think it should be ok, it looks a lot like a Dutch invoice, has the right VAT % etc. Should be fine…
Thanks

Lego Serious Play, a three-dimensional thinking and communication process, helps teams gel. You take a group of individual “people silos” and weave them into a cohesive team.
By Donna Denio from Team Dynamics Boston
Lego Serious Play session100 PERCENT PARTICIPATION GUARANTEED – The highly structured LSP process design guarantees that every person in the workshop participates equally.
GIVES SHY PEOPLE CONFIDENCE – Having time to think during the building process, a model for reference, and a specific time to speak builds confidence.
FRESH PERSPECTIVE GUARANTEED – The number of options and solutions generated and the fact that each model is an original expression (instead of building on an idea that has already been voiced) guarantees that fresh perspective emerge.
GETS TO CORE BELIEFS AND VALUES – You learn everyone’s REAL fears, areas of disagreement, hopes and dreams (instead of the sanitized, politically correct business-speak or lips-sealed-shut silence we have come to accept).
AUTHENTIC EXPRESSION (NO LIES) – It is difficult to misrepresent or inflate your reality when using LSP to express ideas.
CREATES A COMMON LANGUAGE – Professional training and cultural norms inform each person’s verbal expression so words can mean different things to different people. Some words or phases are only understood by people with similar professional training. The LSP models each person builds creates a common language that can be seen, questioned and understood without challenging the model builder.
CLARIFIES COMPLEXITY – The process supports creating a landscape which makes connections and relationships among and between components clear, concrete, and easy to understand.
GROUP ALIGNMENT GUARANTEED – The highly structured LSP process in combination with skilled facilitation assures that every person’s core ideas, values and concerns are incorporated in the final solutions.
MEMORABLE RESULTS – It has been said that one picture is worth a thousand words. Three-dimensional LSP models, stored in your memory as pictures of recognizable objects (such as a gear, globe or tiger) trigger access to the workshop’s key insights.
SAVES TIME – In post workshop surveys and interviews, participants agree that LSP workshops accelerate trust and consensus building at two-to-three times the speed of other traditional methods for group decision-making or strategy development. -
Gabriel replied to the topic The value of the certification in the forum
Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 9 months agoHello Patrizia,
I am quite new at LSP… but since I obtained my LSP Facilitator certification and started to promote it to potential clients, I observed that those who had an interest began to search the Internet for information on it. And this is where I believe we can probably do a better job: selling the merits of a certified LSP facilitator…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 9 months agoHello all,
Something odd is happening to me… I keep meeting people who runs LSP workshops.
I always get thrilled when I meet someone who is into LSP, but then it happened already 2 times in 2 weeks, that these people actually tell me that ‘you don’t need a certification to play with LEGO!”.
I understand that the method is powerful and there…[Read more]-
hi Patrizia, just a couple of quick thoughts: this is a bit like coaching, you dont need a coaching certificate to do coaching, “it is simple, you just have to ask questions”, but those that have approved certifications somehow do it better. There are probably many viable paths, one of the ones that Robert and I work on is that LEGO makes it clear…[Read more]
