I am from Mexico and will have a business trip to Lima, Perú. in the next couple of weeks. I wonder if there is anyone in this community from Perú, I would like to connect and possibly take some time of my trip to meet and share lessons learned and experiences from our LSP workshops.
Nothing formal, I just enjoy the networking a…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoHello Jason,
I am new here, but sure this is the topic for me! I use LSP in the prototyping stages of design thinking, with very nice results, especially, considering that I am working for innovation in the social sector with people who are much more verbal than hands-on. (I just described my experience…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoJon,
Indeed – as Joyce has said: all these questions are thoroughly dealt with at LSP facilitator training sessions. However, if you are interested in this subject in more detail then I would suggest you to read Per’s and Robert’s book. In chapter 4 they talk about the method in detail, incl references to documentation. Also on pp. 138-140 there…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoThanks for the reply Joyce. I of course plan to attend an LSP training workshop, but there doesn’t appear to be anything on the calendar I can get to for at least a year. Meanwhile, I am hoping to use the goodwill of this forum to expand my knowledge.

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHi Jon, “where” and “what” did you learn about LEGO Serious Play (LSP)?
I know people from the Agile community who think that getting out a bag of LEGO bricks is an LSP workshop. I know people in top-ranked business schools who think the same thing (I work with one of them). But it isn’t.
The process is extremely powerful when applied…[Read more]

How do people document the outcomes of a LSP facilitation? Photos and labels? Flipcharts? Notes? Video? How do you present your findings and outcomes to the commissioners of the workshop?

Thanks for sharing – sounds like great fun. Would be interesting to find out more.
You might have seen this, but there was a recent post about the connections of the Lego Serious Play and design thinking on this community site. Namely – a reference to a presentation of Arindam Basu:…[Read more]

I recently ran a session for a mentor/men-tee program where I work. We had around 40 members of the program come for this session. I have been running LSP sessions for about a year and teaching Design Thinking for just around two years. This was the first time I was able to try…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoJon,
Welcome to the Serious Play community! I agree with Joyce – at most LSP facilitator training sessions those questions are dealt with thoroughly.
Anyway – it depends on an actual session. In most cases I do one day of a simple session where we start off with Window Exploration Bags or Starter Kits. If it is a quick warmup then I let people…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHello Jon,
here my two cents on what works for me on my workshops.
– I keep separate the starter kits in order to supply one by participant on my next workshop. Eventhough I usually do that, I have had times when i decide to mix all of them and place them at the center of the table for self serve, that works too when you are short one or two kits…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHi Jon, did you do a facilitator training on the use of LEGO Serious Play? These kinds of issues are normally well covered. If you haven’t done a recognized training, I would highly encourage this. You will get informed about practical issues as well as inspiration and insight for using the method and materials. All the best, Joyce

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHi John,
The most important sorting that I find, is to keep the Starter kit pieces separate from the landscape, connections and any other surplus. Getting people started well and without confusion is critical success factors as our LSP mentors knew well when designing the process. When I complete an engagement I take all of the leftover…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHi All
I am just starting to experiment with Serious Play. I could do with some practical advice. Here are a load of questions:Do you mix all your sets together, or do you keep the Landscape and Identity kit separate from the Connections kit, or mix it all in together?
Likewise, do you keep your Starter kits separate?
Do you introduce the…[Read more] -

Hi Hisham
I live in South Africa. It’s so far away from Europe and the US that Lego won’t deliver their Serious Play products here. I have to have them delivered in the UK and courier them to South Africa myself.
I have been earning my living for 11 years using LEGO for team building and now Serious Play. I was trained by one of the so-called…[Read more]
