Hi All,
This is a subject that I take dearly to heart. Some of us in the LSP community were practising years before we finally got certified and I am sure that there will always be a percentage of professionals who discover the methodology and start using it successfully long before they decide to attend a formal training session.I remember a…[Read more]

Scott – I havent asked the participants to do stop-motion videos, but I have done these myself using camera’s stop motion function. Gopro is the easiest option. See one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF6Nm5hixKY

I am also offering certified training courses, but admit that the word “certification” on this market is misleading. Criteria for certification is just survival for 2-4 days at the training. The reason I offer certificates is that many people coming from corporate setting suggest that they need this as the evidence of attendance.
There is no…[Read more]

Rick. What a sad loss and what a kind and thoughtful way of remembering Onno. He was such a lovely chap. Very engaged and active LSP practitioner. Thank you for sharing this.

Eli De Friend replied to the topic Teambuilding activities for a team of 4 people!? in the forum Serious Play Pro Forum 6 years, 8 months ago
Hi Marcos,
I always tell potential clients that team-building is an unavoidable by-product of the LSP process. Therefore it is better value and actually helps the process if the team can focus on a specific subject. The fact that they are German and Mexicans should only influence what language they use.Activities you might want to consider…[Read more]

Eli De Friend replied to the topic Eye tracking and LSP in the forum Serious Play Pro Forum 6 years, 9 months ago
Hi Stephen,
As the LSP community is so vast now, I wouldn’t count out the possibility that studies might have been conducted in the area of eye-tracking during an LSP process, although I would think it is highly improbable.
Such research might influence how we present the methodology. Another aspect of participant behaviour that we “know”, while I…[Read more] -

Thierry, thanks for sharing your experience. Very good story. It is very nice to know that not having been formally trained in LSP you managed to design and handle your workshop beautifully.
I added it on the community front blog page here so that it can be shared also via other channels:…[Read more]

Hi Denise, Sorry for putting a “Y” in your name. I actually checked that it was “I”, but my fingers seem to have had a mind of their own :-)
Marc, David Oliver’s LinkedIn profile is https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-oliver-bb4343/. But as you now have the link with Denise, I think you’re in capable hands.
Best regards,

Hi Marc,
May I recommend that you contact Denyse Meyerson. As far as I am aware, she is based in Sydney. She has been training and certifying other facilitators for nearly 10 years now. So, she would be able to train you or put you in contact with some of the facilitators she has trained in the past.
Also, David Oliver, who worked with Johan Roos…[Read more] -

Hi Hans,
There’s not much point in repeating what I have already said in other posts. Certainly having 2 facilitators is better than one, and with 16 participants, you may end up working with 4 tables. With one client I had a project team of about the same number of people and we split them into two large tables of 8, until the end of the day,…[Read more] -

In 2009, we ran a 2.5 day workshop for the Geneva Office of the United Nations Development Program. Each unit had to develop their work plan for the following year. Most of the teams were small enough to sit at a single table, but one of the teams had about 10 members present. So we split them into two tables more or less next to each other (so…[Read more]

Dear Joanna,
In your profile, you list yourself as being a participant, while in your post you say that you were the facilitator. As I understand it, you were trained by Robert Rasmussen. I am sure that he can give you better advice than I can. That being said, the simple answer to your question is to work with multiple tables of fewer…[Read more]

Hi Melissa,
This subject should have been covered in your training.
According to those more knowledgeable than myself, the ideal number of participants at one table is 4.
A competent facilitator should be able to handle around 15 participants (so that makes 4 tables). Beyond 15 participants, you will be sacrificing quality for the sake of saving…[Read more] -
Eli De Friend replied to the topic Looking for LSP experience feedback for a group of 50 pax in the forum Serious Play Pro Forum 7 years ago
Hi Ariane, the answer is yes.
Joyce and I tend to use a rule of thumb of approx. 15 participants / facilitator. Best practice is closer to 8 / facilitator, but most clients are reluctant to spend that much money on the facilitation and the coordination of all of the co-facilitators would almost require a full time person doing just that.
With…[Read more]

Dear Joanna,
The way I have understood your question is that you as a facilitator of LSP activities are being asked by a client to use LSP to support an interview process. I think it would be helpful to be careful with your terminology.
A facilitator-led interactive process in which one participant builds metaphorical models with LEGO pieces and…[Read more] - Load More
