To my knowledge, the role of moderator has never been discussed in the seriousplaypro community. I must admit I don’t necessarily read every post, though I try to. The concept of communities within communities was discussed, but not how they would function. In fact, until you mentioned it, I was unaware of a French or Spanish speaking community.…[Read more]

Good point Patrizia.
Maybe every special community that is set up should have a mediator / spokesperson / ambassador in the general community, like the role you are suggesting you would play for the Italians. -

Hi Marko and Macrina,
In the original vision of the community, we imagined that there would be communities within communities and as we have just seen the birth of the Italian-speaking community, this notion is alive and well. However, when Patrizia suggested creating her Italian-speaking community, my first reaction was negative. While, I…[Read more]

I probably have some thoughts on this, but I am going into a webinar right now.
In the meantime, please change the abbreviation in the subject line from BCM to BMC!
I’ll post my thoughts when I get out of our webinar

Fair enough. After posting my message, I did think that I have something of a bee in my bonnet (try modelling that in bricks) on the general subject of quality, credibility and competence, as you may well have detected.
I didn’t intend to question any one person or group of people in particular. It’s rather the concern that word-of-mouth has its…[Read more]

Hi Bruce,
While Jens has been closely attached to the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY community for about ten years now and both he and Katrin Elster, who is a co-organiser of Play4Agile, are certified LSP facilitators, there is no guarantee that everything that Jens and Katrin introduce to the Agile community under the brand name Strategic Play is necessarily…[Read more] -

BTW, I’m not suggesting that you can’t or shouldn’t use LSP in an Agile project. Far from it. In fact, the more people using LSP, the merrier. My concern is related to branding and quality. How can an honest client with a certain budget ensure that his or her funds achieve the intended objectives, if there is no guarantee on what is being…[Read more]

Hi James,
You are not the first person to use Agile and LSP in the same breath. In April at a Project Management conference, I was talking with a guy who ran a one and a half hour session on LSP and Agile. What bothered me was that he had only seen “LSP” once, at another conference and instantly thought he could lecture on the subject. He…[Read more] -

Dear Marcos,
I seem to remember 4 years ago, when we set up the community, there was some suggestion to use salesforce.com as a way to share business leads and leverage each other’s work. There were some fairly valid arguments against this, not least of which is the fact that many companies don’t want the world knowing that they have asked for…[Read more] -

Jon,
Little to add to the rich answers from Joyce and Marko, only want to share that I have found it important to keep the documentation as close to their language as possible, i.e. really use the metaphors and keep them alive. This helps carry the result into the workplace afterwards
Good luck

Wishing you all a very productive couple of days in Billund. Sorry that Joyce and I couldn’t make it this time round – just a bit too busy on a variety of different professional and personal projects for once.
I just read a reply by Leif Kjaer Karlsen to my comment about protecting the core values, principles, etc. of LSP. What he says is very…[Read more]

A Potential Breach in LSP Core Values???
As a follow-on from the conversation with Gabriel, I thought I’d trawl the net for any reference to Swisscom and LSP. Apart from our own CAPRESE web site, and the Xing profile of our main client representative, I also saw a link to a page in German:…[Read more]

According to my information from a former colleague, now employed at DSG Berlin, JK (during a WS Sept. 7th.) by using the LSP concept name represented a directly contradiction of all the LSP values, principles and etiquette. hi Patrizia
Your question is far from stupid, however it may have two sides to it:Do you mean what defines something as LEGO SERIOUS PLAY – in that case we would often turn to the core process. If one does not adhere to the core process, then it is not LSP
Do you mean defining what it does or is, ie a method etc – in this case we often talk…[Read more]
