Thanks Dieter, appreciated.
If anyone else has links to workshop resources for kids, involving LEGO as a tool/process, that would be useful too.
Thanks

This is great article. I am so grateful to you and Mr. Victor. I will frame this part: ‘The story of LSP is one of the sweat, tears and frustration but also the passion, engagement and courage to be different that go into entrepreneurship. It is also a story of persistence.’ As one of facilitator, I am also passionate about methodology. Your…[Read more]

Brilliant Johan! Thanks for reminding us of the deep and diverse theoretical roots of LSP.
Our time at the Imagination Lab in Lausanne was always memorable and remarkable — thank you for your patience with a simple American as we brought LSP into the world.
It is astonishing to me that LSP started as *strictly* a 3-day “Real Time Strategy” works…[Read more] -

Like @denisemeyerson Thank you Johan, this is a super read and has helped me understand so much more about the brilliant method you and Prof Bart created. As one of the many professional facilitators who use the method, my clients and workshop participants are grateful to have their stories heard. I believe it was Einstein who said “If At First t…[Read more]

This is a superb article. Thank you for the detailed explanations and the background. What a wonderful gift you have given to so many people – transformed lives and changed the way in which teams ‘play’ together.

As proud “fathers” of what many called an “insane” idea two decades ago, finally, Bart Victor and I just published an article about the sweat, tears and frustration, but also the passion, engagement, persistence and courage to be different that went into the LEGO® Serious Play® and Real-Time Strategy idea, concept, and initial product two decad…[Read more]

Hi Thierry,
Not involving LSP, but MIT Solve, a marketplace for social impact, has some programs that target kids in Bangladesh.

Hi, someone on LinkedIn contacted me after seeing my blog, she’s interested in LEGO workshop ideas/resources for a rural community outreach program in Bangladesh for underprivileged children.
This isn’t my domain at all, so does anyone have contacts or resources I could point her to? As it’s about children, LSP may not be the most appropriate…[Read more]

Gargoyle Software also put together a page on the Exploration Bag:

I find in general that it is possible to do a version of the Starter Kit exercises with the Explorer bag, but on a smaller scale. The Tower exercise translates fine, and there are at least two distinct ways of making a duck…[Read more]

I believe I can help out with this one.
Over at Mecabricks I have a set of LSP Window kit models – https://www.mecabricks.com/en/user/stephendann and over at my website there’s a copy of the manual I use – http://stephendann.com/lego-serious-play-resources/
Plus, if you’re after some supplemental stuff, I have a paper over here that helps -…[Read more]

Happy year and thank you very much for your always fast and good response Eli.
My main activity is the workshops and then complement them with coaching processes.
The question was asked because I have seen that other people who have been certified after I are basing their business in forming other coaches and psychologists in LSP and did not know…[Read more] -

Sorry that last post was a little more direct than I intended. Danger of belting out a post on your way out the door at 5pm!
Anyway what I was trying to say (somewhat ineloquently) was that in client interactions I’ve found the best thing to do is get them building and experiencing LSP.
That’s the evidence you and they are looking for. A cli…[Read more]

Great discussion in here, thank you everyone.
I wouldn’t put much stock in Dan’s views, numbers or anything else. Clearly has a chip on his shoulder and an agenda to push with his book. I’m not wasting any more breath/words on him.
As to how to talk about LSP and the challenges that some of you are facing in getting clients to use LSP, I’m not s…[Read more]

I think Jamie makes some good points. In my mind there is no doubt about the value of LSP as a method (and I intend to get fully certified as soon as time and budget allows), but if Dan Lyons’ statistics are right — 10,000 certified facilitators vs 100,000 participants, i.e. a ratio of 1:10 — then it would seem that the ROI for getting certified…[Read more]

Hi Irene, based on the Open Source license, you are licensed to facilitate or train even without being trained or certified yourself.
Technically, there is no official training curriculum or certification process. So if you wanted to create your own one, that would be completely OK as long as you respect LEGO’S Branding and trademark guidelines,…[Read more] -

Happy Christmas and New year to everyone.
It is permissible for us, being certified facilitators, to train other people (such as psychologists or coaches) to use the methodology for their sessions?
Does the open source enable that possibility?
Thank you.

Hi All,
It’s my first time in contributing to this forum, but the nature of this discussion certainly jived with my experience of attempting to bring LSP to some of my clients (and potential clients).
