I’m going to be traveling to facilitate several workshops and all my Identity Kit pieces fit into a carry on bag, but I’m having a hard time finding something to use for the extra large (15×15”) base plates without having to use an open tote or giant suitcase?
Can anyone recommend a zippered tote that could also fit a MacBook Air?
Any help is ap…[Read more]

Dear Eli,
Thank you so much for sharing this story with me – it’s a great inspiration. Actually I’m going to test “rotating” tables or mixing groups from task to task.
Best regards,

In 2009, we ran a 2.5 day workshop for the Geneva Office of the United Nations Development Program. Each unit had to develop their work plan for the following year. Most of the teams were small enough to sit at a single table, but one of the teams had about 10 members present. So we split them into two tables more or less next to each other (so…[Read more]

Dear Eli, thank you for thoughts and tips, they all are important to me. I have experience with multiple tables and concept works well, althought I really feel the difference if team (people working toghether, not only group of people)can work at one table – I was hoping for some non-standard solutions:). I’m determined trying to find “close to…[Read more]

Dear Joanna,
In your profile, you list yourself as being a participant, while in your post you say that you were the facilitator. As I understand it, you were trained by Robert Rasmussen. I am sure that he can give you better advice than I can. That being said, the simple answer to your question is to work with multiple tables of fewer…[Read more]

Hi there! Recently I had a chance to facilitate team of 15 members to create common vision and mission. There comes the challenge: table of 15 is quite hard to facilitate (lenght of sharing part, discussion moderation is challenging to keep high energy and interest level). On the other hand dividing team into smaller groups seemed to me not…[Read more]

Hi Melissa,
12 should not be an issue if you facilitate the sharing and discussion well.
I have run a table of 14 at one go with no major issues though I do not recommend it.
I find that 6 is an ideal table size for time and richness of input.
As Eli says having cofacilitators or even assistant facilitators is best and also distfibutes ebergy and…[Read more] -

Hi Melissa,
This subject should have been covered in your training.
According to those more knowledgeable than myself, the ideal number of participants at one table is 4.
A competent facilitator should be able to handle around 15 participants (so that makes 4 tables). Beyond 15 participants, you will be sacrificing quality for the sake of saving…[Read more] -

As groups get larger, the sharing takes up more time. Any tips on facilitating a group of 12 if you don’t have a co-facilitator?

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. If it is not please accept my sincere apologies and delete the post.
I had noticed two posts requesting Lego Serious Play Facilitators in USA for sessions during January 2018. One in NYC and the other in Nashville.
Since I will be in the USA around Jan ’18 I am available to assist as…[Read more]
