Or otherwise: show a large timer, appoint a time keeper, or use a 1, 2 or 3 minute hourglass – that runs while someone is explaining his/her model.

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 6 months agoHi, yesterday I finished a two part workshop to find the improvement values in a company. The workshop had to be split in two sessions because the organisation needed to go on and couldn’t afford to shut down one day (health care). So we decided to split the LEGO Serious Play workshop in two sessions. To facilitate everything we did split the…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 6 months agohey Luca: it’s true – that specific line does not appear in The Republic, or in any of Plato’s other writings. Despite that, I have continued to use it in my workshop introductions, with the modifier of ”
attributed to Plato.”
A Google search reveals thousands of mis-attributions, including from prestigious academic journals.
That does not make…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoHey guys,
I like the quote below very much:
“You can learn more about a person in an hour of play than you can from a lifetime of conversation”
PlatoBut I’ve recently found an issue about it: a few sites state that it is mis-attributed to Plato:
https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Plato
You Can Discover More About a Person in an Hour of Play than in a Year of Conversation
The quo…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoI’ve done workshops with parallel tables using the Window Exploration Bag/The Serious Duck, and one of the things that I’ve found valuable for managing parallel tracks is to have bag labels – if you’re laying out 60 tables worth of Window Kits, and those kits come a printed page identifying the participant (Player 1, Player 2 etc), then you can…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoHi Nikos,
You could check the inventory list of all sets at LEGO.COM (https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/replacementparts/sale?ignorereferer=true) At Buy Parts you can enter the setnumbers (2000414 and 2000430) and you get a view of all elements in the set, ready to order! I assume these are the lists of the most actual boxes. Hope this is…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoHi Manon,
a few suggestions:
– work in really small groups, so you can move on – instead of waiting for several tables to finish their discussions
– do not just set up a timeline, but use a visible timer as well – so people know when they should finish and you don’t have to scream to silence them
– make the challenges really comprehensive and…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoHello everybody,
I would like to ask, if anybody knows where can I find the official inventory list of Starter Kit, Identity and Connections Kit.
I have seen the several posts in the forum, but I think that they are not updated and there are some differences in the actual boxes.Thank you in advance

Serious Play Pro Forum 8 years, 7 months agoHi Manon,
This is a great challenge, indeed!
I have been doing big groups workshops. My suggestions would be to focus just in two concepts:
1) Warm-up for about 40 minutes.
2) The topic you would like this group to discuss.
And instead of having strong facilitators collaboration (would be the best, but as you mention is a little expensive for…[Read more] -

Hello, Manon. I have done lots of events for large audiences and would be happy to share my experiences. There are two possibilities – either you provide a 3-4 hour briefing or introductory training to 35 table-leaders who will facilitate in turn in tables to ensure that people in the tables understand really well what to do. Alternatively, you…[Read more]
