• Hi Marko,

for a smaller set than the Landscape and Connections kits, I use an “Art Bin”. It is a compartmentalized suitcase and it works well for me given that it helps organize the bricks by type if you wish and they don’t get mixed. Could work well for travelling since it’s easy small enough to take as a carry-on and easy to go through security…[Read more]

  • Hello Jeff,

I support 100% Massimo’s suggestions as in my last workshop I made the mistake of underestimating the time it takes for just the skills building. Remember that the time you allocate is a factor of the # of exercises, the time you give them to build, the time you give them to share, the time for reflection, and of course the # of…[Read more]

muchísimas gracias. I’ll send you an email.

  • I’d like to know if anyone in the community has had the opportunity to use LSP on a personal level or for couples work. The context is the following: my wife is a Life Coach who helps individuals as well as couples with their personal lives. Seeing the potential of LSP as a great problem solving and communication tool, my wife thought immediately…[Read more]

I think that skills building is an absolute must but from what I have learned, the time allocated for it depends highly on the number of participants and the type of participants, as well as, as Marko stated, the session design. I also think that as I build experience, I will become better at time management.

Marko I like your suggestion about…[Read more]

    Hi Eli,

thanks for your comments, they are all so very valuable. I’ll make sure to take into account your suggestions for my next workshop.

    Thanks again Eli…

  • Hello community,

I am taking some time to share my experience of a workshop I completed just about 1 week and a half ago.

In a nutshell, this workshop did not go as planned. I was too ambitious with timing. I was only able to complete 2 out of the three exercises. Here’s what happened.

    Timing
The workshop was scheduled from 10 am to 3:45-4:00 p…[Read more]

I cold heartedly agree with Eli, don’t “fall into the numbers trap”. The way I work around this is by bringing up all the workshops I have conducted in the past, with or without LSP. LSP is a tool, and a great one… but the secret is the facilitator. Also depending on the type of clients you are dealing with, I learned so far that some will catch…[Read more]

Thanks for your feedback. I actually had my meeting today with the project sponsor. I was somehow able to convey the merits of conducting an LSP workshop in one day and reducing the number and quality of participants to 10-12; with more higher-level outcome. So all these exchanges in the community paid off.

    Marko,

    thank you for forwarding…[Read more]

  • Thank you Balint… it’s nice hearing from you by the way.

Marcos, splitting the group in two is definitely an option I considered given that participants come from two separate groups: a working group (hands-on operational people) and the steering committee (directors and leaders). Building 2 groups of 10 mixing and matching them would…[Read more]

  • Marko thank you very much for your input… this helps me tremendously. I will compare your planning with mine and make proper adjustments. Maybe the planning just might convince them to take one day. In fact I am meeting with the team leader tomorrow to work on the planning.

Bruce, your second point is quite valid, in fact when I told my client…[Read more]

  • That’s my concern as well Marko. In fact when they first asked me to do this, I was immediately thinking of 1 day. When I mentioned this they frowned! On top of that the group will be composed of about 20 people.

Since I am new at this and this would be only my second workshop, what arguments can you suggest I use to convince them otherwise? Or…[Read more]

thanks for your reply and thoughts. The key word here is approach.

In fact my client is not so much looking at the workshop to help develop a sector strategy per say, but to think of the best approach or framework or mechanism, under which one or more sector strategies can be developed.

This stems from the fact that many of my clients…[Read more]

  • Has anyone used LSP to help in sector specialization strategy? It turns out that a client of mine, in the small business banking sector, is looking for support to go from being a sector agnostic bank to sector focused bank. For this they have asked me to facilitate a 4-hour workshop with LSP with the goal of determining the best approach to become…[Read more]

Hello all, I am working my way to secure a large Telecom service provider. I saw in various presentations that Swisscom actually used LSP. Can anyone tell me for what application exactly and if at all possible which division of Swisscom?
    Thank you

    • Hi Gabriel,

Swisscom used LSP in a strategic programme to move from technology driven product development to human centric customer experience design.

Orange Communications used LSP for strategy and branding in the very early days of research through The Imagination Lab.

I also believe that some work was done with British Telecom around 2009,…[Read more]

      • Eli,

thank you very much, this is very helpful. It turns out that the Canadian company I am referring to will be speaking to Swisscom on another matter and just might bring up the topic of LSP.

        Thx again
        Gabriel

    • BTW where did you see a presentation about Swisscom and LSP? I’m not aware of anything on seriousplaypro

  • Hello Patrizia,

I am quite new at LSP… but since I obtained my LSP Facilitator certification and started to promote it to potential clients, I observed that those who had an interest began to search the Internet for information on it. And this is where I believe we can probably do a better job: selling the merits of a certified LSP facilitator…[Read more]

Hello everyone, I am about to give my first ever LSP workshop next week and had a question: anyone know if LSP was used in the financial sector (banking or other)? My client is a state-owned development bank and I am sure they would be thrilled to know if that were the case!

    Thanks

    • Ive done bank of tokyo mitsubishi japan’s largest bank for last 1.5 years. 1 to 2 two day sessions per month.
Also 10 sessions for bank mandiri indonesia’s largest bank which is also state owned.
Also AXA insurance one if worlds largest for 2 sessions last 2 months.

      • Hi Sebastian,

thank you very much. This is very helpful. I’d like to know more about it. Would you be open to a skype call to share with me your experience?

        Cheers

    • hi, I have used it with two major UK banks, one large bank in Southern Europe. I have not personally used it with banks in Scandinavia (where I live), but believe it has happened
