A client wants to print 20 mouse mats with a photograph of their shared LEGO Serious Play Vision model.
The printer asked if they had permission from LEGO to do so.
Would I be right in advising the client this will not be needed, or will the LEGO legal team be suing my client for infringement of LEGos IP?
Any advice most welcome! – thanks Sean

Hugues,
Not sure that I understand your question. Can you please elaborate with some examples what types of inputs are you looking from the community?
Kind regards,

Hi, I’ve also used the pencil pot challenge, but to explore leadership. Like Marko I’ve given the instructions to half the team and an objective to the other half. Those with the instructions build an identical product, those with an objective build something functional and innovative. I then ask ‘what type of leadership do you prefer?’ This…[Read more]

Hi Manuel.
Indeed, I have used pencil cup/letter dog exercise as a simple ice-breaker, but it is the most powerful in an instance where you have a relatively bureaucratic company looking for more flexibility. In those situations where the company past has fostered the truisms that the procedures, budgets and instructions are paramount. What I…[Read more]

Hi there fellow facilitators,
I recently got my connections kit and sorted out the ten sets for the pencil cup challenge. I also translated the operating procedure for building the cup as stated in the facilitators document. However we just briefly got into is exercise in my training and I am trying to figure out how it really works, as there is…[Read more]

its so rewarding to use LSP with special needs participants. Few months ago i had the opportunity to run team building workshop wjich it has 3 participants who were deaf. They had their own interpret which absolutely helped. the success of the workshop depended on the power of including these participants through allowing enough time…[Read more]

Hi Eli and Marko,
my 2 cents worth on this.
The ethics of being certified in LEGO Serious Play has become an issue for me also.
Originally I discovered LSP online and then got the open source documents and researched David Gauntlett, and other write ups on LSP. I then ran some workshops using LSP with some success, but then decided to learn…[Read more]

Hi Marko,
Thanks for raising this topic. I think your own personal story is a very eloquent one and perhaps significantly more powerful one than my own, which is similar.I learnt about LSP in 2002 from Joyce Miller, who, as a freelance researcher and communications consultant working for the Imagination Lab in Lausanne, had just attended the…[Read more]

personally, I have started practicing with the methodology, although I have not been “certified” because of financial and logistical limitations. same with you Marko, most of my knowledge of the LSP method was acquired thru research, reading, and practice. I use it as another element in my toolbox, but I am definitely not teaching the method per…[Read more]

I was recently again pointed to one firm who offers LEGO SERIOUS PLAY workshops, but has not taken formal LEGO SERIOUS PLAY training with any of the senior trainers. So what to think about it?
It would be great to see a debate in this matter. Let me kick off by my own perspective.
I tend to have a democratic stance, based on personal experience.…[Read more]

Hello Hugues,
When you’re working with a deaf person in the group, they’d likely bring their interpreter. The main adaptation would be to give the interpreter some space / time to finish their sentences or move closer to the speaker. So make sure people don’t start talking at the same time, or at the speed of light. Everything that’s being said…[Read more]

hi, I am wondering if any of us has some guidance or principles to follow if you have to be both a participant and a facilitator at the same time? Are there any documented things to avoid if one has to do this? Is it of any value? Can we subvert the behaviours enough to be of true value to the outcome? I am thinking particularly for a team…[Read more]

Hi Enrique.. Would be happy to help. I’m based in Indonesia though.. I don’t know if that Asian perspective helps you?
I’ve done variations of play learning, indoor and out with thousands of people over the years at staff to CEO levels… and it is a very effective method I find..
