I have applied in a couple strategy workshops BMI’s Business Model Pattern Cards, based on Gassmann’s, Frankenberger’s and Csik’s Business Model Navigation theory create a useful combination for informed strategy discussions. Works well when people want to brainstorm about their business model configurations. More straightforward than BMC.
I have recently come across a similar card-based facilitation aid invention of Doblin/Deloitte team. These are the authors of Ten Types of Innovation: The Discipline of Building Breakthroughs (Keeley, Walters et.al.) I read their book with interest and found some of the concepts applicable for extending business model discussions – especially given that they focus on the processual view of business modeling.
I saw that they have created a promising set of Doblin Innovation Tactics Cards. However, sadly Amazon does not deliver those cards outside the North America. Has anybody of our North American community members used in their facilitation practice? What do you say about your experience?
