Imagine my surprise to see LEGO® bricks on the cover of Harvard Business Review. Even their cover photo on Facebook is LEGO® bricks. It really is no surprise at all though since LEGO® bricks hold some much potential for builders, be it children, teens, or adults. I have worked with all three age groups using LEGO® materials and seen amazing results each time. I even conducted a workshop with refugee students who did not speak any English and were able to participate fully in a workshop where they built their legacy. LEGO® is a universal language.

So, what does HBR know that your business needs to know about teamwork? The HBR March-April edition features an article about teamwork and leadership. Here is the link to the article, The New Science of Team Chemistry.

Teamwork (noun) the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient. What is new? LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.

LSP is a creative meeting, communication and problem-solving method where participants are lead through a series of questions which dive deeper and more quickly to gain access to often surprising new insights. Participants build models in response to facilitator’s questions. The models serve as a basis for group discussions, knowledge sharing, problem solving and decision making while building consensus and eliciting everyone’s best thinking.

The 4 Cs at work — Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration — what better way to implement 21st century skills into a meeting than LEGO® Serious Play®.
