I enjoy the privilege of working in the Robotics, Technology and Engineering Education industry for the last 12 years as a Designer, Coordinator, Facilitator, Mentor and Coach, while designing and developing robots, curriculum and activities and conducting Professional Development training’s, seminars, camps and competitions. This has given me the opportunity to meet many future Engineers and Teachers Nationally, Regionally and Internationally at Global Robotics Trade-shows, Seminars, Events and Tournaments along the way, creating a wonderful network in Robotics, Technology, Engineering, 3D printing, gaming and STEM.
My robotics programs have gained Worldwide notoriety and achieved global success, with my FLL, (FIRST LEGO League, Grades 4-9) teams advancing to the State Finals tournaments, my FTC, (FIRST Tech Challenge, Grades 9-12, Junior Varsity) teams won the honored Connect Award, while being invited to the Asia/Pacific Invitational in Australia, AND, my FRC, (FIRST Robotics Competition, Grades 9-12, Varsity level) teams winning the Rookie All Star and Engineering Inspiration Awards, sending us the FIRST Robotics WORLD Championship in 2008,2009,2010, and 2015. In 2009 I was awarded Mentor of the Year at the AutoDesk Oregon Regional, for the Pacific Northwest, (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Hawaii), and runner up for Educator of the Year in Oregon. In 2015, I was awarded as an Outstanding STEM Coordinator on Maui.
Since 2009 I have been a certified trainer for LEGO Education, LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics, LEGO Serious Play Professional Development, and National Instruments LabVIEW Software, (for FTC Robotics). I have traveled across the United States, conducting Professional Development workshops for School districts, staff, administration and students in the LEGO Education and FIRST Robotics pedagogy. In 2014, I received trainer certification for AutoDesk Inventor CAD Software, as the 3D printing industry and MAKER movement grows exponentially.
