Thanks for your feedback. I actually had my meeting today with the project sponsor. I was somehow able to convey the merits of conducting an LSP workshop in one day and reducing the number and quality of participants to 10-12; with more higher-level outcome. So all these exchanges in the community paid off.
Marko,

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoThank you Balint… it’s nice hearing from you by the way.
Marcos, splitting the group in two is definitely an option I considered given that participants come from two separate groups: a working group (hands-on operational people) and the steering committee (directors and leaders). Building 2 groups of 10 mixing and matching them would…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoGabriel, my two cents…
You mentioned the group was going to be 20 participants, I would do one of these 2 scenarios:
1- Split the group in half and have 2 separate sessions.
2- Have them all together in the room but use a facilitator assistant so you can have 2 tables of 10 working at the same time, you give one general instruction or…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoMarko thank you very much for your input… this helps me tremendously. I will compare your planning with mine and make proper adjustments. Maybe the planning just might convince them to take one day. In fact I am meeting with the team leader tomorrow to work on the planning.
Bruce, your second point is quite valid, in fact when I told my client…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoThat’s my concern as well Marko. In fact when they first asked me to do this, I was immediately thinking of 1 day. When I mentioned this they frowned! On top of that the group will be composed of about 20 people.
Since I am new at this and this would be only my second workshop, what arguments can you suggest I use to convince them otherwise? Or…[Read more]

thanks for your reply and thoughts. The key word here is approach.
In fact my client is not so much looking at the workshop to help develop a sector strategy per say, but to think of the best approach or framework or mechanism, under which one or more sector strategies can be developed.
This stems from the fact that many of my clients…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoThank you Marko, Debbie, Patrizia, Sebastian and Christopher!!
all your comments were useful for me, let me tell you that the session last month went great!
They were 10 participants and half of them knew each other and the other half didn’t (even though they work in same company). I went through the classic warm up, and included in my workshop…[Read more] -

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 1 month agoHas anyone used LSP to help in sector specialization strategy? It turns out that a client of mine, in the small business banking sector, is looking for support to go from being a sector agnostic bank to sector focused bank. For this they have asked me to facilitate a 4-hour workshop with LSP with the goal of determining the best approach to become…[Read more]

Serious Play Pro Forum 11 years, 2 months agoHi Juan,
I worked in the past with architects – both students and practitioners.
With one of them, we wrote an e-book on using LSP in co-housing – it’s free here http://b4bricks.org/media/handbook-for-co-housing/ sadly it’s in Italian, but maybe with Google translate you can read it easily.
If you have problems, please, let me know! What were…[Read more]

others said it well and I totally agree with them: make it relevant and useful.
My only additional suggestion is to clarify that a public demo with many participants is not a workshop and that they will experience something very different.
The challenge for the facilitator, aka you, is to take then into the flow quickly.

Lego Serious Play in Italiano 11 years, 2 months agoCome molti sapranno, qualche anno fa, fu rilasciato un libretto su LSP Open Source da Lego stessa .
