Arno Bendermacher

I started my career in 1979 as a policy advisor at the Municipality Roermond. I prepared and developed local policy, concerning sports, welfare, health and care. In 1995 I became District manager at the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), concerning ‘my own’ district (two provinces of the Netherlands; about 135.000 FA-members and 450 football clubs). In 2005 I accepted a job at the headquarters in Zeist as Manager Governance and Control, responsible for governance processes, (company wide and long-term) strategy / policy plans, business processes and result oriënted projects (for about 1.2 million members and 3.250 football clubs).

I am passioned by organizations: how they are organized and function, what culture dominates and what is their output. To me their vitality and dynamism always was fascinating. Thinking and talking in teams about a perception of the future, choosing a suitable company strategy and re-arrange into a suitable organization, was leading in my career. So I became fond of organizational problems and solutions and change management.

I am certified Senior Civil Servant (1987) and have a Master Degree in culture- and change management (2010).

April 2014 I started my own company: ForwardInBusiness. My purpose is to assist and help local governements, non profit- and small profit organizations forward by changing structure, culture and/or processes and make them future proof.
