History
SERIOUS PLAY® concept was created in 1996 by Professors Johan Roos and Bart Victor when they both were professors at IMD in Switzerland. It was used as a way for managers to describe, create and, challenge their views on their business. Articles about their early ideas were published in 1998 “In Search for Original Strategies: How About Some Serious Play?” and in 1999 “Towards Model of Strategy Making as Serious Play”. Long-Range Planning journal published in 2004 article “Playing Seriously with Strategy” (which was co-written with Matt Statler), that serves as the foundation for the concept and practice of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.
